Established by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the journal serves as the leading regional platform for Islamic governance scholarship in Southeast Asia.
The journal's scope encompasses Islamic political theory, governance and institutional design, Maqasid Shariah in public policy, Islamic economics and public finance, ethics and leadership in Muslim-majority states, and the practical application of Islamic principles to contemporary governance challenges. It is especially attentive to governance dynamics within the ASEAN region and Brunei's Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) framework.
